The Attached Arms
Royal Logistic Corps (RLC)
The Royal Logistic Corps consists of several components. Some of these include the former Royal Corps of Transport (RCT), Pioneers and the Catering Corps. The only component attached to the 9th/12th Royal Lancers is the Catering Corps.
When in camp the Regiments catering needs are met by the Corps. Once the Regiment deploys on exercise or operational tour the catering corps are never far behind, bringing their high catering standards out into the field.
Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers (REME)
The Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers consist of various different trades including Vehicle Mechanics, Armourer's and Electricians. These help make up the REME Light Aid Detachment (LAD) attached to the 9th/12th Royal Lancers.
When in camp the LAD carries out any complex maintenance needed on the vehicles. When deployed on exercise or operational tour the LAD are separated and attached to Squadrons as fitter sections helping recover and maintain vehicles. The REME have proved their worth countless times, often working through the night to keep the vehicles moving.
Adjutant General's Corps (AGC)
The Adjutant General's Corps supply administrative support to the 9th/12th Royal Lancers. The Regimental Administrative Office (RAO) is the main body of the detachment.
The RAO is where soldiers pay and documentation is maintained on a Regimental level by financial and clerically trained personnel. In addition to this clerks are dispatched to Squadrons for extra support. When the Regiment deploy on exercise or operational tour the AGC continue to provide a high standard of administrative support.
