Courses at AFC(H) start in September and January. Each course is 42 weeks long and is split into three terms. Each term is then split into two halves, with a week’s half term leave in between. At the end of each term you generally get two weeks leave.
Depending on which intake you join, you would become a member of one of the five training companies: Waterloo, Cambrai, Peninsula, Burma or Alamein.
Each of these companies is made up of either five or six platoons, and each of these platoons is divided into four sections. It is here in your section, under your section commander, that you first learn how to become a soldier – and to work as part as a team.
