Parents Thoughts
Thought #1
"My wife and I were at the passing in parade and in the last 6 weeks our son has made us all so very proud of his achievements, obviously with a great deal of help from yourselves. On the train back to London he never stopped talking about things that he had done in the last six weeks. We generally would have got very small amounts of conversation from him. Having him back home for the half term was a pleasure as I noticed for once in his life his bedroom was very tidy, his bed was made and the bathroom cleaned up."
Thought #2
"Before he entered Harrogate he only seemed to think of himself and no one else seemed to matter, now he thinks of everyone around him first. He is very polite and always wanting to help. As a mother I would always do his washing, ironing and fussing over him, now he has come home a man and can look after himself 100%. I am very proud of the work that the Army has done, Thank you."
Thought #3
"She seems to have grown up overnight. She now has a sense of purpose and takes pride in herself. She seems more open and honest rather than shy and withdrawn. It is a pleasure to have a mature conversation without the ever-present twang of attitude. She takes responsibility for her actions and care of her belongings. She seems happier and more at ease with herself. The most noticeable thing has to be her sense of purpose and hunger to achieve, her eagerness to learn and participate in everything. Our little girl has been changed into a beautiful, well mannered and ambitious young lady!"
Thought #4
"There have been no miracles in the first 6 weeks at the AFC, but there certainly have been changes in our son. These might be explained by the apprehension prior to joining and the enjoyment and fulfilment at the AFC. In specific terms these changes might be summarised as calmer, more mature, more considerate and much more able to communicate generally."
