Parents Page
This will probably be the first time your child has lived away from home and the unfamiliarity of the new surroundings and a new routine can be stressful for them. Your support in the early days of training is vital to ensure they are getting the best out of the AFC and that they can go on to complete their Phase 1 Training. Highly trained, specially selected instructors are on hand, providing advice, guidance and, when required, a bit of positive encouragement.
We can assure you that all members of staff, both military and civilian, have a keen interest in all aspects of recruits welfare and well-being whilst they undertake the rigours and demands of Phase 1 training. After all the greatest asset the Army has is the soldier. Your son or daughter represents the next generation.

Contact With The College
Parents are actively encouraged to keep in close contact with the training team responsible for their son or daughter. Upon arrival at the AFC, each parent is given an information pack which contains a list of useful telephone numbers. Parents also get ample opportunity to visit their son or daughter whilst they are in training. As well as the capbadging parade and the pass out parade, each training company holds a parents day roughly half way through the training year where parents can see their child in action. |
