7regt7 Regiment (V) of the Army Air Corps.

7 Regiment Army Air Corps (V) is unique within the TA as we directly support HQ Land Command with battlefield helicopter tasking.  During peacetime this mainly consists of liaison flying, regular and TA exercise support, TA and cadet familiarisation flights and general regimental training.  These tasks are mostly carried out within the UK, however we regularly deploy abroad in support of major exercises.

Our headquarters are based at Netheravon Airfield on Salisbury Plain where we have two squadrons - 658 and 666 - each have 6 aircraft together with 18 pilots and 12 groundcrew.  We also have two flights based at Shawbury in the Midlands and Leuchars in Scotland who each have 4 aircraft and 14 pilots.

All pilots wishing to join us must have previously served with the Army Air Corps during their regular service. We also have a number of ex-Royal Navy, Royal Marines and RAF pilots who served on exchange postings with the Army Air Corps during their regular careers.  Most of our pilots generally serve between 40 and 60 days a year.

No previous military experience is required to join as a member of our groundcrew as we will provide all the training that you require. That said, we are always more than happy to receive enquiries from ex-regular, ex-TA or serving TA personnel.  As a member of the groundcrew your training commitment is a minimum of 27 days a year, made up of weekend training and a two-week course.
