Megan Cameron

Officer Cadet Megan Cameron - 3 Section 2IC, 5 Platoon

I joined the UOTC to develop my CV and my leadership qualities, make new friends, try things I had never done before and to see if the military suited me for a career.

I also needed to earn some money whilst at university. With the UOTC I have had the opportunity to try a wide range of new activities.

I have really enjoyed the adventurous training side of OTC and I have found the military training very rewarding once you have done it.

I have developed leadership skills and got two leadership qualifications, (MLDP 1 and MLDP 2).

I have made new friends and had the opportunity to try out new activities such as scuba diving and kayaking.

The UOTC has also really helped to maintain my fitness.

I would recommend UOTC because it's the type of experience that you would not get elsewhere.

You can get a lot out of the UOTC, if you make the most of it; and it looks very good on your CV.
