Lüneburger Heide
Hohne Garrison, consisting of 3 Stations located at Bergen-Hohne, Fallingbostel and Celle all lie on the heathland known as the Lüneburger Heide. The Heide stretches from Hamburg in the north, to Braunschweig in the south, and from Achim in the west to Lüchow in the east.
The local area around Hohne Garrison prides itself on its historic architecture, wildlife parks and sancturies, clean rivers and open recreational spaces and its relative proximity to Scandanavia and the rest of Germany. The Heide is a vast area of stunning natural beauty, virtually all of which is accessible to the general public. During the period late Spring to early Autumn, fairs, festivals, markets and concerts take place in the towns and villages almost every week. Of course, in the run up to Christmas, every village and town holds its Christmas market - a must for locals and visitors alike.
