The Regiment has recently deployed several times on a number of Overseas Training Exercises (OTX).
Since April 2005 three of our Battery's 38 (Seringapatam) Battery, 636 (Arcot) Battery and 129 (Dragon) Battery have deployed to Belize in Central America in order to conduct Jungle training and additionally to fire our highly mobile primary weapon system the L118 Light Gun.
The Jungle familiarisation and acclimatisation training itself was quite demanding and proved to be a real test of individual and team soldiering skills. Specific training covered in the jungle package included navigation, river crossings, patrolling, contact drills, survival and learning to both administer yourself and your military equipment in a jungle environment.

After the jungle training our batterys then began a phase of live firing. We fired our 105mm Light Guns in support of the infantry battlegroups live company attacks, with large amounts of different weapon systems being fired and coordinated successfully.
