Housing

So to the housing section.  If you are thinking about buying or renting a house then the experts on the subject are the staff of the Joint Service Housing Advice Office (JSHAO).  Their E-mail address is jshao@hqland.army.mod.uk or their telephone number is 01722 436575 (Mil 94331 2575), Fax Ext 2577.  There is also the JSHAO magazine called Housing Matters which covers varied topics and it concentrates on different areas of the country throughout the year.  If housing is likely to be an issue with you it is worth seeking out copies of the magazine and looking through to see what is relevant to your situation.  At the antepenultimate page of the magazine you will find the telephone numbers for members of the staff - if you cannot find a copy ring me and I will give you details.

The JSHAO team also carries out briefings throughout the year, under the heading  "One Day Housing Briefings - Housing the Options".  They take place throughout the country, with some in Germany and Cyprus.  They are primarily designed for Service Personnel and their partners who are shortly to leave the forces.  However, you may still attend if you are not yet leaving but are considering your civilian housing future.  Attendance at these courses does not count against the Resettlement entitlement.  Dates for 2008 are:
