2nd Division Organisation

Organisation. The 2nd Division comprises four brigades and a garrison:

  • 15 (North East) Brigade, with its HQ in York, responsible for units in the North East of England

  • 42 (North West) Brigade, with its HQ in Preston, responsible for units in the North West of England

  • 51 (Scottish) Brigade, with its HQ in Stirling, responsible for all units north of Stirling including Shetland and the Western Isles

  • 52 Infantry Brigade, with its HQ in Edinburgh, responsible for units in Central and Southern Scotland

  • Catterick Garrison, including units in Ripon, Topcliffe and Dishforth. Catterick Garrison also hosts 19 (Mechanized) Brigade which is under operational command of 3rd (UK) Division
