 King George VI inspects 157

His Majesty King George VI inspects 157 (Lowland) Field Ambulance RAMC (TA) at Aldershot in June1940 before they embarked for the Cherbourg Peninsula with 52nd Lowland Division as part of the 2nd BEF, following the evacuation from Dunkirk. 

11/2nd Scottish (renamed 23rd Scottish) General Hospital were deployed to Peebles Hydro Hotel in the Scottish Borders from September 1939 until April 1940. The medical wards were in marquees erected on the putting green. They were bitterly cold during that winter.

205 in Riyadh
 

205 (Scottish) General Evacuation Hospital  RAMC (Volunteers) deployed to King Khalid International Airport near Riyadh, Saudi Ararbia during Operation GRANBY in 1991. They set up 600 beds in the unfinished Terminal 4, though the workload was fortunately light.
