The majority of the 4 Armoured Brigade is based in Osnabrück, though there is a significant element in Münster. This brigade still has 2 armoured regiments and 2 armoured infantry battalions, though it will lose one armoured regiment from Osnabrück, in the next 2-3 years.
Whilst the headquarters of 7th Armoured Brigade and some of the forces are in Bergen-Hohne, the majority of the Brigade is based in Fallingbostel and one armoured infantry battalion in Celle. The brigade will lose an armoured regiment in approximately 5 years time.
20 Armoured Brigade was the first to lose one of its armoured regiments when the 1st Royal Tank Regiment returned to UK in April this year to retrain as a Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Warfare Defence Regiment. The majority of 20 Armoured Brigade is based in Paderborn, though there is a significant element in Sennelager. The brigade headquarters recently moved from Paderborn to Sennelager.
Stationed within the geographical area of the division under administrative control is 102 Logistics Brigade in Gütersloh. The bde is vital, not only to our ability to deploy on operations, but also for the conduct of training.
