Michael Clarke

The Regional Marketing Board was appointed in the summer of 2008 in response to the actions set out in Connecting to Success, and is chaired by Professor Michael Clarke.

The Board is made up of key regional figures from business and from the public sector who have the influence and networks to align and challenge the marketing activities of partners.

As a Board their role will be to lead the development and implementation of the updated Regional Marketing Strategic Framework, to challenge all partners to play their part and to ensure regional activity is aligned behind a single powerful voice for the region. 

In autumn 2008 the board commenced its refresh of the region’s marketing strategy, last updated in 2005.

The resulting West Midlands Regional Marketing Strategic Framework (Opens in new window) - PDF - 2mb, setting out the basis for establishing a powerful voice, is now available.

The Framework will be supported by an action plan setting out how partners will deliver against each of the framework’s strategic objectives.

The action plan is in development and will be published on this site shortly.

The Strategic Framework and a draft, indicative action plan will be shared with regional partners, both public and private sector, across a series of Engagement Events in spring 2009.
