	The latest national statistics on Electricity and Gas Consumption at Middle Layer Super Output Area (MLSOA) and Intermediate Geography Zone (IGZ) Level produced by the Department of Energy and Climate Change were released on 26th February 2009 according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.
	The release includes statistics on domestic and industrial/commercial consumption in the MLSOAs of England and Wales, and the IGZs of Scotland during 2007. The data are produced using meter point data from the electricity suppliers and gas transporters, and are consistent with the Local Authority level National Statistics that were released on 23rd December 2008.
	The latest releases update the statistics previously released on 28th February 2008, which related to 2006.
