Chain email campaign calls for all UK employers to Back Young Britain
Senior figures from PricewaterhouseCoopers, the National Housing Federation, Centrica, the Prince’s Trust, Groundwork UK, the Association of Graduate Recruiters, Ultimo as well as the high profile entrepreneur Peter Jones, will today each be emailing one personal contact asking them to support the campaign and give young people opportunities in their respective organisations.
Each employer that is contacted will also be asked to email a contact of their own and encourage them to do the same. Our goal is for a chain email to spread and eventually mobilise every UK employer on behalf of young people. If you are an employer or would like to support the campaign and encourage fellow employers to do the same, then you can simply cut and paste the following email, personalise it, send it to a contact and play your part in providing young people with the opportunities they deserve:
Dear [insert name], Backing Young Britain is a national campaign, which brings Government, business and other organisations together, to create new opportunities for young people in these tough economic times. [Insert organisation] has committed to backing this campaign and are [insert initiatives being carried out by your organisation to provide young people with opportunities].
We are proud to be making our contribution to helping give young people the opportunities they deserve. I am writing to you today, on behalf of the campaign, to ask your organisation to consider Backing Young Britain. My hope is that you will be inspired by the commitment of organisations like mine and the many other business and organisations who have given support to date, and that you will go online to www.hmg.gov.uk/backingyoungbritain and commit to giving young people opportunities in your own organisation.
Having given support, I would also like to ask you to then write to a contact of your own and encourage them to do the same. Our goal is to mobilise every UK employer on behalf of young people, and I believe it is in all of our interests that we succeed.
