Innovation Economics, Statistics & Evaluation (IESE)

Based in London, IESE is an interdisciplinary unit of Economists, Statisticians, Scientists and Engineers within the Innovation Group (IG) of the DTI.

The Unit is made up of two groups who work closely together:

Assessment Unit who are responsible for ex post evaluation of Innovation and Technology support programmes, provide advice on the formulation of new programmes.

Economists and Statisticians who provide professional advice on Science, Technology and Innovation (including Office of Science and Technology, OST) and provide a professional input to the work of the Assessment Unit.

The Director of IESE is Mark Beatson who has overall responsibility for the work of IESE and its staff. He is supported by Theresa Turner, his personal secretary.

Ray Lambert is the Deputy Director of IESE and assists the Director in his management role as well as having responsibility for specific areas of work.
