¨ We assess whether or not in our view it is in the public interest to investigate companies against which complaints have been made to the
DTI. We may decide not to investigate.
¨
If
we are satisfied that there is good reason and that it is in the
public interest to do so we will conduct an investigation.
¨
If we do not investigate a complaint ourselves we may pass the
information provided to someone who may be in a better position to
investigate the issue you have raised.
¨
The
investigations we carry out are for fact-finding purposes only. If we
do find things that concern us we can take action, as highlighted on
the next page.
¨
Please note that these investigations are CONFIDENTIAL
and therefore we cannot tell you what we have found.
¨
We do not have to restrict our enquiries solely to what was in the
original complaint.
