Voluntary giving to higher education

Universities are autonomous and need increased control over their own destiny

One part of such increased control is raising independent income from donations in order to achieve excellence and add value to core funding.

Evidence from the UK and the USA has shown that this source of income can be significantly increased and used to fund current projects, enhance facilities and increase endowments.

This report sets out the Government's proposals for increasing voluntary giving to higher education.
