Durban 29 Nov 2011 - The CDM Executive Board, whose 65th meeting finished last week, met with stakeholders for a question and answer session on the margins of the UN Climate Change Conference taking place over the next two weeks. 28 Nov 2011 - The DNAs of Spain, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Côte d’Ivoire, and Colombia are winners of the 2011 DNA Communicators of the Year Showcase. Results were announced at the climate change conference in Durban, and winners will be featured on the CDM website along with their entries. The showcase was launched in 2010 to share and recognise work done by DNAs to promote the CDM in their countries.
Durban, 25 Nov 2011 - At its 65th meeting, the CDM Executive Board adopted three comprehensive standards to guide the assessment work of third party certifiers and project participants. The much anticipated project validation and verification standard, project standard and project cycle procedure had been in process for most of the year and had been before the Board at each of its past three meetings.
Under the Clean Development Mechanism, emission-reduction projects in developing countries can earn certified emission reduction credits. These saleable credits can be used by industrialized countries to meet a part of their emission reduction targets under the Kyoto Protocol. more »
