About the Better Regulation Executive

The Better Regulation Executive has been tasked by the Prime Minister to minimise bureaucracy for businesses and front–line staff in the public sector and to help charities and the voluntary sector to make a greater contribution to society.

A dynamic force in government, the Better Regulation Executive sits within the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform and works across government to support and challenge departments and regulators as they reduce and remove regulation across the private, public and voluntary sectors. The Better Regulation Executive also plays an active role in promoting the better regulation agenda in Europe.

The Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform has the Ministerial lead on this agenda across Whitehall.
