Monumental Games, an online games developer from Nottingham received a Grant for Business Investment worth £140,000 to establish a Salford base. The Grant helped the company safeguard 23 jobs with a further 32 jobs to be created by 2010.

Grant for Business Investment is designed for businesses that are looking at the possibility of investing in a deprived area, but need financial help to go ahead. It is part of a wide range of support offered through the Government's Solutions for Business.

Paul Mayze, Chief Operating Officer for Monumental Games said:

"We have been grateful for the enabling support from the North West Development Agency and their recognition that prospects for this sector remain favourable even in an economic downturn. Their investment in the region is commendable and we look forward to working with them over time to exceed even our own expectations for growth."
