A ferry boat company is motoring into a new season of trading thanks to a £125,000 government-backed loan.
The Bristol Ferry Boat Company Ltd obtained the loan from a local bank using the Enterprise Finance Guarantee scheme which provides a 75% guarantee for loans for businesses which don’t have the required security available.
The funding will help secure the sound future of the Bristol business which, in addition to the popular ferry service (which operates 364 days a year), also provides a council subsidised commuter service, private boat trips and public trips including along the Avon Gorge.
Jane Salvidge, Director of Bristol Ferry Boat Company Ltd said: "This additional funding is a big boost to us and enables my team and I to approach the summer trading season with a renewed spring in our step after a relatively quiet couple of years with poor summers affecting trading."
