National Improvement Strategy

The National Improvement Strategy (NIS) is a programme that takes forward the Quality Improvement Agency (QIA) White Paper Further education: Raising skills, Improving Life Chances (March 2006)

The strategy sets out what the further education system needs to do to achieve excellence and how QIA and partners can support the system to make it a reality. It aims to develop the quality and maturity of the further education system, to support steps towards self regulation and self improvement.

Given the pace of change and move towards self regulation the Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS) is leading on a consultation with the national partners to refresh NIS on behalf of the sector.
