The UK Low Carbon Economy Summit was held on Thursday 26 June 2008. This one-day event was designed to bring together a highly influential group of leaders from business and government.
The event provided a platform for an informed debate to help establish a common understanding on action that needs to be taken by government and business to create an environment that supports and promotes investment in low carbon solutions such as renewable power generation and carbon capture and storage as well as emissions trading.
The Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, spoke at the event. His speech on creating a low carbon economy is available on the Number 10 website.
