BIS promotes competitiveness and productivity within the sectors.

The work comprises:

  • Aerospace - telephone 020 7215 1128 - responsible for relations with civil aerospace companies and trade association ADS.
  • Defence - telephone 020 7215 1134 - responsible for relations with defence companies.
  • Marine - 020 7215 1165 - responsible for ship building, repair and disposal, marine systems and equipment, and the leisure marine industry.
  • Technology - telephone 020 7215 1115 - responsible for technical advice on projects, National Aerospace Technology Strategy, maximising the benefit to the UK from European Framework research; and aerospace environmental issues.
