Biography

Vicky has been Director General, Economics since August 2002. She is also Joint Head of the Government Economic Service, overseeing some 1,500 public sector economists.

Vicky is a Fellow of the Society of Business Economists, a visiting Fellow at Nuffield College, Oxford, Visiting Professor at CASS Business School, City University, and sits on the Council of the University of Kent and of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts (RSA).

She is a member of the International Advisory Board of British American Business Inc (BABI), on the Advisory Board for the Centre for International Business and Management (CIBAM) at the Judge Institute at Cambridge University, on the Research Advisory Board at the Association of British Insurers and on the Standing Advisory Group of the Financial Reporting Review Panel.

Previously Vicky was Partner at London Economics, Chief Economist and Partner at the accountancy and consultancy firm KPMG, Corporate Economist at ESSO Europe, and Chief Economist at Williams & Glyn’s Bank (later Royal Bank of Scotland).
