Biography

Ken Warwick was appointed as interim Director General, Economics in August 2010. Prior to taking up this appointment, he was the department’s Director of Analysis and he has worked in a variety of senior economist roles since joining the then Department of Trade & Industry in 1996.

Ken is a member of the board of the Government Economic Service and has also worked as a senior economist in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and in economic advisory roles in the FCO, DEFRA and on secondment to the IMF in Washington.

In addition to his departmental duties, Ken chairs the OECD Committee on Industry, Innovation and Entrepreneurship and is a non-executive director of DfID’s Investment Committee.
